History

Longobardi S.r.l.'s history started at the turn of the 19th century, when Salvatore Longobardi established a commercial fruit firm in Imperial Vienna. In 1918 Longobardi opened a wholesale fruit company in Bolzano, and one year later bought the "Plaumann" warehouse in Lana, where he then based his company headquarters. From there the company expanded beyond the borders of Italy, and was soon supplying fruit to the whole of Europe. Salvatore's son Marcello Longobardi was in turn succeeded in the family business by his son, Bruno. In 1963 Bruno established another company, which traded in agricultural machinery. Bruno Longobardi passed on his passion for machinery to his son and from this point onwards, the family decided to concentrate on designing and developing fruit processing machinery and systems. Today Longobardi supplies high-quality, technically complex fruit processing machinery to the whole of Europe.
